2026 Car Audio World Finals Preview: Three SPL Organizations, One Big Weekend in Indianapolis

2026 Car Audio World Finals Preview: Three SPL Organizations, One Big Weekend in Indianapolis

Paul Galanos |

Car audio competition is heading for a big weekend in Indianapolis. On October 3–4, 2026, the Indiana State Fairgrounds Expo Hall will host the IASCA SPL World Finals alongside dB Drag Racing and ISPLL competition. That puts three major sound pressure level organizations under one roof, with competitors bringing the systems they have spent the season building and tuning. iasca.com

What is SPL competition?

SPL stands for sound pressure level. Competitors build car audio systems to produce enormous, measurable bass output while meeting the rules of their class. A winning setup takes more than a powerful subwoofer. The enclosure, amplifier, electrical system, vehicle, and countless tuning adjustments all affect the result.

That is part of what makes a finals event so interesting, even if you have never entered a competition. You can see how different builders solve the same challenges and how much planning goes into a vehicle built for serious bass.

Can you attend or compete?

Spectator admission is free. A published event preview lists parking at $10, with public hours of 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Sunday. IASCA says its World Finals competition is invitation only, but it is also holding a separate triple point event open to other competitors. Anyone planning to enter should check the organizer’s current requirements before traveling. iasca.com

The dB Drag Racing Finals span Indianapolis and Spruce Grove, Alberta. Competitors at the two locations will take part in the same North American Finals using Term-LAB measurement. Indianapolis is also the shared venue for the IASCA and ISPLL events. www.ceoutlook.com

What should car audio fans watch?

Watch for the official scores, class winners, and any confirmed records. Also pay attention to the builds themselves: how competitors arrange their subwoofers, reinforce their vehicles, supply power, and keep equipment performing through repeated runs. Those details often make the best stories after the trophies are awarded.

For now, this is a preview. The 2026 winners and records have yet to be decided. We’ll follow the official results and share the standout achievements once they are verified.
