A recent Pioneer NEX firmware update addresses incorrect behavior during phone calls on three receivers: the DMH-W3050NEX, DMH-W3000NEX and DMH-2000NEX. Pioneer's September 24, 2026 notice also lists minor bug fixes and says the free update applies to these models sold in the United States and Canada.

For owners, the useful first step is to check the exact receiver and its installed software version. For installers helping a customer with a calling problem, this bulletin is worth checking before deciding what further troubleshooting is needed.

Which receivers get the Pioneer NEX firmware update?

Pioneer's September 28 Tech Tip identifies these target SOC versions. SOC is the version label to look for in the receiver's information screen:

The downloads are model-specific. The W3050NEX and W3000NEX share a target version number, but their firmware packages are not interchangeable. Match the complete model name before choosing a download.

What the phone-call fix covers

Pioneer's notice describes the calling correction broadly. It does not identify a particular phone, operating-system version or exact symptom. Owners should avoid assuming that every calling problem has the same cause or that this update guarantees a fix for their situation.

If you contact a shop or Pioneer for help, write down your receiver model, SOC version and what happens during the call. A clear description gives support something specific to work with.

Before you download or update

The official update instructions explain how to find the model name and SOC version under System Settings, then System Information. Compare the displayed version with the one for your model. Pioneer directs owners with an earlier version to update; a receiver already showing the listed version does not need this release installed again.

Read the full instructions before starting. They call for a blank USB drive of at least 2 GB formatted FAT32. Keep the vehicle safely parked with the parking brake engaged, maintain uninterrupted power and leave the USB connected while the update runs. If the engine is running, work outdoors in a well-ventilated area, never in an enclosed garage.

After the receiver finishes restarting, confirm the SOC version. If the procedure is unclear, ask Pioneer or a qualified installer for help before proceeding.
