Great sound starts with a solid plan. Explore financing and lease-to-own options, understand the differences, and keep your next upgrade within a budget that works for you.
Four providers. Different ways to pay.
Start with the type of agreement. Then compare the full cost, payment schedule, and eligibility requirements.
Acima
With Acima Leasing, you lease eligible merchandise and can obtain ownership through the purchase options in your agreement. Acima Leasing is not a loan, credit, or financing.
Cost to consider: Ownership through leasing costs more than the retailer’s cash price. Early purchase options require action; you are not automatically enrolled.
Snap Finance
Snap supports lease-to-own agreements, bank installment loans, and retail installment contracts. The specific program planned for 12 Volt Outlet will be confirmed before launch.
Know your agreement: A lease and a loan work differently. Review the program type, ownership terms, total cost, and any early purchase or payoff options.
Affirm
Affirm offers payment plans through its lending partners, subject to an eligibility check. Available plans depend on the purchase and merchant; a down payment may be required.
Cost to consider: Review the APR, any interest, payment schedule, and total repayment amount in the specific offer before accepting.
Progressive Leasing
Progressive Leasing purchases eligible items and leases them to you. Ownership follows completion of the agreement’s purchase requirements. This lease-to-own option is not a loan or credit.
Cost to consider: Ownership through leasing costs more than the retailer’s cash price. Select items only. You may purchase early or return items and cancel; unpaid lease costs may remain. Unavailable in MN, NJ, and WI.
A better build starts with the full picture.
Compare the total
Compare the cash price with the full amount required to own the gear, including interest or lease costs, taxes, and applicable fees.
Budget the whole system
Include wiring, adapters, electrical upgrades, and installation in your budget. A payment option may cover only selected items.
Keep payments comfortable
Check payment frequency and due dates against your income and existing expenses. A smaller upgrade or saving first may be a better fit.
Before you choose
What’s the difference between financing and lease-to-own?
Financing involves credit used for a purchase, with repayment under a loan or credit agreement. With lease-to-own, the provider owns the merchandise while you lease it; ownership transfers when you satisfy a purchase option. Compare total cost and ownership terms, not just the payment amount.
Is approval guaranteed? Will applying affect my credit?
Approval is not guaranteed. Requirements and consumer-reporting practices differ by provider and product. Review the provider’s current application disclosures, including any credit inquiry or reporting information, before submitting personal details.
Can I use these options for any product or installation?
Eligibility must be confirmed for the exact items. Acima lists consumables and items permanently attached to a vehicle among its exclusions. Progressive Leasing also excludes installation labor and services, and lists batteries as consumables. Ask about the specific product and program before relying on approval to cover your purchase.
Can purchasing early reduce the cost?
Some agreements offer early purchase or payoff options. Read the deadline, required amount, fees, and steps to activate them. Regular scheduled lease payments may not complete an early purchase option. Ask the provider for the exact amount and process.
