KICKER Marine has announced the MM series, a new pair of 6.5-inch and 8-inch coaxial speakers designed for boaters who want to step up their sound system. Announced September 29, 2026, ahead of the IBEX marine industry show, MM adds another choice between KICKER’s established KM speakers and its higher-performance marine offerings.
A coaxial speaker puts the tweeter and larger speaker driver together in one assembly. That makes it a familiar choice when replacing speakers in a boat, although the correct size, mounting depth and wiring still need to be checked before ordering.
What’s new with MM?
KICKER says the MM speakers bring design features from farther up its marine lineup into this new “Leisure Pro” range. They include an illuminated tweeter, a Tetoron dome designed to reproduce high notes, polypropylene cones, and sealed locking electrical connections. KICKER also says the speakers follow its REAL MARINE standards for exposure to water, salt and the outdoor environment.
For shoppers, the main news is more choice when planning a boat system. A speaker upgrade should suit how the boat is used: music at the dock, conversation while cruising, or higher output over wind and engine noise. The speakers also need to be matched with suitable amplification if the goal is a larger improvement than a direct replacement alone can provide.
Should you plan an MM upgrade now?
Yes—but check the finished specifications before choosing parts. KICKER has announced the 6.5-inch and 8-inch MM speakers, but model numbers, pricing and a confirmed retail shipping date have not yet been published. This announcement does not mean the speakers are currently in stock.
If you are planning a marine audio build, start with the speaker openings already in your boat, the available mounting depth, the power your system can provide, and whether you want matching lighting throughout the boat. Once KICKER releases the full MM specifications, those details will make it easier to compare MM with the existing KM and M-Class options.
The takeaway: MM looks set to give boat owners another well-defined step in KICKER’s marine lineup. We’ll be watching for the final models and availability details before treating it as a ready-to-order upgrade.
