GLOSHOPfx at 12 Volt Outlet

Color for the outside. Atmosphere for the inside.

Explore GLOSHOPfx decorative vehicle lighting with the Glostorm Car Underglow Kit and GLIO Ambient Light Kit. Choose underbody color for an exterior lighting project or coordinated accents for the dashboard, doors and footwells.

Meet GLOSHOPfx

GLOSHOPfx brings a microelectronics background to automotive decorative lighting. The company describes product development informed by its own underglow installation workshop, with experience across more than 1,000 cars and approximately 400 models. That hands-on focus is reflected in the attention given to controls, cable protection and mounting hardware.

Its lineup separates two distinct projects: lighting beneath the vehicle and lighting within the cabin. At 12 Volt Outlet, the Glostorm and GLIO kits give you a starting point for either approach. This guide explains the differences so you can choose the right kind of lighting before planning the details of the installation.

Two kits. Two different lighting projects.

Exterior decorative lighting

Glostorm Car Underglow Kit

The Glostorm kit is built around six underbody LED strips: two for the front, two for the sides and two 60cm rear strips. GLOSHOPfx specifies 84 LEDs per meter, a controller, a wireless power-cutoff switch and protective fire-resistant tubing.

The supplied installation hardware includes extension cables, brackets, screws, zip ties and heat-shrink material. Front and side strip lengths depend on the selected configuration, so compare the available option with your measured mounting area.

Choose Glostorm when the goal is decorative light around the lower perimeter of the vehicle. Treat the mounting route, protected wiring and operating location as part of the project from the beginning.

Interior decorative lighting

GLIO Ambient Light Kit

GLIO adds coordinated light to the cabin. Its core lighting set includes four 110cm door strips, two dashboard strips measuring 125cm and 40cm, four door-handle lights, four door cup-holder lights and four footwell lights.

A main Bluetooth controller and four subcontrollers support the layout, with a wireless remote and the specified power and connection cables. The manufacturer describes modular expansion options; optional additions are separate from the core kit.

Choose GLIO for a dashboard-and-door accent project with supporting cabin lighting. Plan around the actual trim, panel access and electrical connections in your vehicle.

Keep the application clear. These are automotive decorative-lighting products. GLIO is an interior kit. Placement in a vehicle or marine shopping category does not establish waterproofing, marine certification or model-specific fitment. Confirm the exact installation environment before ordering.

Details that shape a good lighting installation

Control the effect and the power

Think about how you will reach the controls after the vehicle is reassembled. A convenient color setting is only one part of everyday usability. You also need a clear way to switch the lighting off, accessible service points and an installation that works with the vehicle’s electrical system.

Glostorm’s wireless cutoff disconnects power to the lighting kit when operated. Correct wiring and circuit protection remain essential. For GLIO, the installation guide calls for a suitable +12V accessory-power connection for the main controller. Follow the instructions for the specific kit rather than assuming the two systems connect in the same way.

Plan for the finish before removing panels

For exterior lighting, inspect the intended path along the vehicle with attention to clearance and access. For an interior project, identify the trim lines you want to illuminate and check how the doors, dashboard and console come apart. A neat result depends on the route as much as the color.

The GLIO guide includes panel removal and drilling for some accent lights. That is worth considering before committing to an installation. Decide which parts of the cabin you want to modify, how the wiring will remain protected and whether you want a qualified installer to carry out the work.

Plan your GLOSHOPfx lighting project

1. Start with the vehicle and the setting

Record the year, make, model and body style, then identify where the lights will be installed. An enclosed cabin, an exposed motorcycle and a boat present different conditions. Shared battery voltage alone does not establish suitability. Check the product’s documented application and ask about any environment the manufacturer does not expressly cover.

2. Measure the intended coverage

Use actual mounting measurements rather than the vehicle’s overall length. Allow room for connectors, cable transitions and service access. For cabin lighting, inspect the trim gaps and the distance from each light to its controller. Confirm the selected kit configuration and contents on the product page.

3. Allow time for a complete installation

GLOSHOPfx recommends testing the components before fitting them. Its underglow guide estimates approximately three to six hours or longer depending on the vehicle and installer experience, and advises against driving with the installation unfinished. Set aside enough time to finish the mounting, wiring and checks without rushing.

4. Check intended use before switching on

GLOSHOPfx warns that certain decorative-lighting products are intended for off-road use only and directs customers to check applicable local requirements. Do not assume that every available color or effect is permitted on public roads. Check the rules for the location and manner in which you intend to use the lights.

5. Keep the exact product details together

Before ordering, review the current listing for configuration, contents, price and availability. Keep the installation guide and product information with your vehicle records. If you are unsure about a proposed installation, contact 12 Volt Outlet with your vehicle details, the kit name and the intended mounting location.

GLOSHOPfx: common questions

Which kit should I choose for interior lighting?

GLIO is the cabin-lighting option, with dashboard and door strips plus handle, cup-holder and footwell accents. Glostorm is the underbody lighting option. Start with the area you want to illuminate, then confirm the installation requirements.

Does universal-style lighting mean a vehicle-specific fit?

No. These kits still require a mounting and wiring plan for the actual vehicle. Strip lengths, panel access, available space and electrical connections matter. A collection name or a similar vehicle photo does not replace those checks.

Can I treat the entire Glostorm kit as IP68-rated?

GLOSHOPfx describes an IP68-rated metal controller enclosure. That component-level statement should not be extended to every strip, connection or completed installation, and it does not establish suitability for a marine application.

Can GLIO be used in an exposed or marine location?

GLIO is presented as an automotive interior lighting system. No marine certification or kit-wide waterproof rating is established in the product information used for this guide. Confirm suitability directly before considering an exposed or marine installation.
