Description

Powerbass 3XL-1210D is a 12" dual 1-ohm subwoofer featuring a new PBX logo dust cap, designed for high-output ported installations with a 1000W RMS (2000W peak) capability and a 3" vented voice coil for strong, controlled bass.

  • Dual 1-ohm voice coils: Two 1-ohm coils provide wiring flexibility to match a range of amplifiers and loads.
  • Power handling: 1000W RMS and 2000W maximum peak performance for demanding bass passages without clipping when used within specification.
  • Cone and surround: Pressed and coated pulp paper cone with a high-roll NBR surround supports high excursion and durable operation.
  • Ventilated voice coil and cooling: 3" vented BASV voice coil former plus perimeter aero-vent cooling vents help dissipate heat during extended bass output.
  • Motor and basket: XTRA large triple-stacked magnet structure and a non-resonant DDC coated cast aluminum basket deliver rigidity and precise control.
  • Terminals: Square spring-loaded nickel-plated push terminals ensure solid, corrosion-resistant connections.
  • Frequency response and sensitivity: 25 Hz–450 Hz with 89 dB (1W/1M) sensitivity for efficient power-to-output translation.
  • Physical fit: Cutout diameter 11.06" (282 mm) and mounting depth 9.1" with a 228.46 oz magnet for a substantial, stable mounting footprint.
  • Enclosure design: Optimally designed for ported enclosures to maximize bass output and efficiency.

In a real car audio build, the 3XL-1210D excels in ported systems where you need deep, controlled bass with high dynamic capability. The dual 1-ohm coils and robust motor assembly support demanding amplifier loads while the heat-management features maintain performance during long, demanding bass passages. Pair it with a capable amplifier and a properly tuned ported enclosure to realize its full low-end potential.

Suggestions use 75–125% of the subwoofer’s RMS rating at the wiring load shown. Check wiring, enclosure needs, electrical capacity and installation space. Set gain and filters correctly to avoid overpowering the subwoofer. Buying more than one subwoofer changes the match.
