About Limitless Lithium

Limitless Lithium started the way the best car audio stories do: in the lanes, with friends, chasing more power.

In North Georgia, Matt Leisch and Roy Rose owned one of the region's premier 12-volt shops. Around 2012, Matt crossed paths with Christopher Allen and his son, Lil Chris, through the local car audio scene, and the group quickly became fast friends. Chris and Lil Chris had been building their truck, Ground Pound, together as a father-and-son project. In 2015 they handed the keys to the professionals, and Matt and Roy set out to turn Ground Pound into a true audio show car. At the same time, Matt and Roy were building their own Tahoe, known as the Gorilla.

Both builds ran into the same wall. The systems were so big that no matter how many AGM batteries went in, it was never enough power. So Matt and Roy decided to build something that barely existed at the time: lithium battery banks capable of feeding systems this demanding.

Those first banks — built to power the Gorilla and Ground Pound — became the foundation of what would become Limitless Lithium batteries. They performed so well that Chris recognized there was a real business in what they had built. Lil Chris came up with the name, and in July 2016, Limitless Lithium produced its first batteries.

The response from the community came fast. Within months of launch, builders were reporting that direct swaps to Limitless batteries produced higher voltage and higher SPL. By 2019, Limitless Lithium had a presence at the Car Audio Championship in Louisville, Kentucky, alongside brands like Pioneer, DD Audio, Fi Car Audio, and SoundQubed. What started in car audio quickly expanded to race cars, motorcycles, UTVs, and powersports.

Dominating the Bagger Scene

In 2020, Limitless entered a market it would go on to dominate. The bagger audio scene was taking off, but riders building serious motorcycle sound systems were held back by a lack of quality battery options. The team developed the Nano series — compact lithium batteries engineered to deliver big power in the tight spaces of a motorcycle. The Nano became the standard almost immediately. Today it powers more than 95% of the bikes in winner's circles across the country.

The Lineup

Nearly a decade of refinement produced a focused, purpose-built product line:

  • Nano Series — Compact lithium batteries built for motorcycles and powersports
  • Retro Pro Series — High-output lithium batteries engineered for demanding car audio builds
  • No-Li Series — Sodium-ion batteries built for the next generation of 12-volt power

Limitless also designs its own chargers, machined parts, and wiring accessories so every component in the system works together. Batteries are sold direct, through a nationwide network of authorized dealers, and through regional distributors in the Elite Distributor Alliance.

Still in It

Roy Rose retired in 2021. Matt and Chris continue to lead the company from Blairsville, Georgia. All these years later, they still own the Gorilla and Ground Pound — the two builds that started it all — and still take them to shows across the country. The mission hasn't changed since those first battery banks: build the most powerful, reliable batteries possible for the people who push them hardest.
