Directed DS4P Digital Remote Start System

Directed at 12 Volt Outlet

More control starts with the right connections.

A great remote-start setup feels simple from the driver's seat. Behind that button press is a carefully matched system: vehicle electronics, programmed hardware, the right harness and controls that fit your routine. Directed brings those pieces together through digital remote-start platforms, connected-control modules and a deep selection of installation accessories.

At 12 Volt Outlet, our Directed selection goes beyond the main module. Explore systems, vehicle-specific T-harnesses, sensors, antenna assemblies, relays and service parts. Whether this is a new installation or an existing system that needs attention, start with the job you need the part to do.

Find your starting point in the Directed lineup

Digital remote-start platforms

The DS4P and DS4 are useful starting points for a compatibility discussion. Directed describes both platforms with Bluetooth smartphone control, programmable vehicle integration and optional remote-control expansion. The DS4P also incorporates high-current relay support for applications that need it. Choose by the documented vehicle application, not by assuming the largest model designation is automatically best.

Our collection also includes DS3 and DS3P listings. An installer should identify the supported platform and current programming requirements before you buy. A module, a complete remote-start package and a remote-start-plus-security installation are different things; compare the supplied parts as carefully as the headline features.

T-harnesses and vehicle integration

The collection includes T-harnesses for selected Ford, Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Chrysler-family and other applications. For example, THFON2 is a vehicle-specific harness, not a universal connection kit. The full year, model, trim and ignition configuration determine which harness belongs in the installation.

A T-harness is one part of the connection plan. Confirm the compatible module, required firmware, additional connections and any vehicle-specific limitations before ordering. Do not treat similar connectors or a shared vehicle make as proof that two harnesses interchange.

Smartphone control and system expansion

The DSM550 SmartStart PRO module adds a cellular-connected route to supported vehicle-control and location functions. Directed's documentation distinguishes this from the nearby Bluetooth connection available with DS4 hardware. Cellular service requires compatible installed equipment, activation, a service plan and coverage. Check the current plan details and app support before deciding which functions matter to you.

Replacement parts and installation accessories

Looking for an antenna rather than a whole new system? Our selection includes antenna-only replacements, control-center kits and assemblies supplied with harnesses. Record the part number on the existing system and antenna before comparing listings. A replacement antenna is not automatically a complete RF upgrade, and similar housings do not establish compatibility.

For security or installation work, the collection also includes the 506T glass-break sensor, 508D field-disturbance sensor, 451M door-lock relay module and 528T pulse-timer relay. Have the installer confirm the intended input, output and supported system before adding accessories. These components perform different jobs; a collection of parts is not a substitute for an installation plan.

Build around the way you actually use the vehicle

Choose the control experience first

Do you want to keep using the factory key, carry a dedicated remote or use your phone? Then decide whether you need command confirmation when the vehicle is out of sight. One-way and two-way control are different experiences. Ask what feedback the proposed system provides, rather than assuming that sending a command means it succeeded.

Bring the complete vehicle information

Record year, make, model, trim, transmission and whether the ignition uses a key or push button. Include existing alarms, remote starters and electrical modifications. For a manual-transmission vehicle, obtain explicit support for the exact system and application. Discuss entry and takeover behavior so there are no surprises when you open the door after a remote start.

Make handoff part of the installation

Have the installer demonstrate starting, stopping, lock and unlock behavior, service mode and the required safety checks. Keep the module, harness and firmware details with your vehicle records. Use remote start only outdoors, never in an enclosed garage, and follow the supplied operating instructions.

Have a part number but not the full picture? Contact 12 Volt Outlet with your vehicle details, existing equipment and desired controls. That is a much better starting point than buying an accessory because its connector looks familiar.

Directed questions, answered

Does a DS4 system automatically include a complete alarm?

No. Directed identifies security as a configurable function requiring additional hardware. Confirm exactly which security components and functions the selected package includes.

Is Bluetooth control the same as cellular SmartStart?

No. Bluetooth is a nearby connection. Cellular SmartStart uses additional compatible hardware and service. Its features depend on the installation, service plan and connectivity.

Can I choose a T-harness using the vehicle make alone?

No. Verify the exact application and module requirements. The same manufacturer can use different ignition systems and electronics across years, models and trims.

Will any Directed antenna replace my existing one?

No. Match the system and exact supported antenna or RF kit. Also check whether the listing includes the harness or is an antenna-only service part.

Where should I start when replacing an older system?

Identify what is already installed before ordering. A full equipment record helps the installer determine what can remain, what needs replacement and whether new programming is required.
