Ballistic kits organize sound-damping material into useful package sizes. Planning the job around measured surfaces helps you choose among door, trunk, speaker and bulk packages without assuming that one box fits every vehicle.
Doors and Trunks
Ballistic Series and Hollow Point door kits each provide 12 square feet of material. Their sheet dimensions and counts differ, so compare the packages with your intended layout.
Trunk kits in both series supply 20 square feet. Measure the panels you plan to treat and leave access for required hardware and components. The word trunk describes the project area, not guaranteed coverage for every car.
Speaker Areas and Smaller Jobs
Speaker kits provide smaller sheets for the surrounding panel area. The Hollow Point license plate kit is a separate option for the plate location. Check each product's contents and dimensions, and do not assume these universal materials provide model-specific fitment.
Larger Treatment Areas
Ballistic bulk kits provide nine 18-by-32-inch sheets with 36 square feet of material. Wedge packages offer smaller quantities for a limited area or an additional section of a larger project.
Coverage figures describe supplied material. They do not account for every offcut, overlap or installation shape. Work out the cutting pattern before deciding how many packages to order.
Prepare the Rest of the Job
Check material thickness against trim clearance and review the manufacturer's installation guidance. Choose an application roller for the accessible surfaces; Ballistic also offers aluminum seam tape for seams between its sheets.
