12 Volt Outlet is proud to announce its partnership with Infinity. For customers who want a more complete listening experience in the car, Infinity offers a useful range of speaker and amplifier choices. The opportunity is to build a system around the music you enjoy, the space available and the equipment already in the vehicle.
Our Infinity collection brings those choices together. A front-speaker upgrade, a dedicated subwoofer channel and a full-system amplifier are different projects. Understanding which one addresses the current system makes it easier to choose equipment with a clear purpose.
Start with the listening problem you want to solve
If vocals are difficult to follow, the answer may involve the front speakers, their installation or the signal feeding them. If the missing element is low bass, replacing a small dashboard speaker cannot take the place of a suitable subwoofer. If the sound becomes strained at higher levels, amplification and setup deserve attention as well.
Write down what you like and what you want to change. Then identify the vehicle's original audio package, including any factory amplifier. That information helps separate a straightforward replacement from a system that needs additional integration work.
This approach is especially useful with a broad brand such as Infinity. The right product is the one that addresses the intended job, rather than simply the most familiar series name.
Compare speaker formats and families carefully
Infinity's current official car-speaker catalog includes Kappa, Reference and Primus families, with coaxial and component options across several sizes. Kappa Perfect products also address specific motorcycle applications. These categories should be kept distinct when shopping.
A coaxial speaker places multiple driver elements in one assembly. A component arrangement provides separate locations for the woofer and tweeter, with the appropriate crossover arrangement. The vehicle's mounting locations and the desired installation determine which format makes sense.
Check mounting depth, cutout, bolt pattern and grille clearance along with nominal size. Impedance and sensitivity also matter, particularly when the factory amplifier will remain. A speaker that physically fits is not automatically the right electrical match for every original system.
Reference amplifiers offer different system layouts
Our current Infinity listings include the Reference 3004A four-channel amplifier, Reference 6001A monoblock and Reference 7005A five-channel amplifier. Those channel arrangements answer different needs.
A four-channel amplifier can serve a speaker-focused upgrade. A monoblock is intended for a dedicated subwoofer role. A five-channel layout can combine speaker and subwoofer amplification in one chassis when its ratings and supported loads suit the chosen components.
The manufacturer's 7005A documentation identifies both speaker-level and low-level inputs. That provides useful connection options, but vehicle compatibility still depends on the actual signal and installation. Input capability should not be confused with automatic correction of all factory processing.
Balance the bass with the rest of the music
A subwoofer should extend the system's low-frequency capability without leaving the rest of the music behind. Select the driver, enclosure and amplifier together. Confirm the final load, appropriate continuous power and the available mounting space before committing to a layout.
After installation, the transition between subwoofer and front speakers matters. Crossover settings, level and phase relationships can influence how well the two parts combine. Turning up the bass control is not a substitute for resolving a poor transition or an unsuitable enclosure.
The speaker installation deserves the same care. Secure adapters, appropriate sealing and attention to nearby trim help the chosen drivers work in the vehicle rather than merely occupy the openings.
