Wāvtech at 12 Volt Outlet

Keep the radio. Upgrade the sound.

Signal integration, compact amplification and shallow bass with a clear system plan.

Wāvtech thinPRO10 10” Professional Series Shallow Subwoofer

Wāvtech at 12 Volt Outlet

Keep the dashboard. Make more room for the music.

A modern audio upgrade can begin with what you want to keep: the factory screen, familiar controls, passenger space, or a usable cargo area. Wāvtech's combination of signal interfaces, compact amplifiers, and thinPRO shallow subwoofers gives you several ways to work within those boundaries.

Our selection covers the signal path from factory integration to the bass driver. Choose the problem you are solving first, then compare the Wāvtech tools that address it. We are proud to bring this approach to 12 Volt Outlet through our Wāvtech partnership.

A foundation for factory integration

link2 and linkDQ

A line-output converter, or LOC, adapts an appropriate speaker-level signal for equipment using line-level inputs. The link2 is a two-channel starting point. The linkDQ combines two-channel conversion or line-driver duties with adjustable low-frequency parametric EQ.

The linkDQ is remote-ready, with the compatible remote sold separately. That distinction matters when planning convenient bass-level control from the driver's seat. An LOC is a signal component, so the system still needs suitable amplification for the speakers or subwoofer. Review linkDQ features.

More channels, more routing choices

link4+ and link6+

The link4+ and link6+ add multi-channel integration tools, including matrix summing and autoBASS. Summing can combine suitable factory signals when musical information is divided between channels. autoBASS addresses factory bass roll-off, while the included remote supports model-specific control functions.

The six-channel link6+ is especially relevant when planning front, rear, and subwoofer outputs. Determine what each factory channel actually contains before choosing routing settings. Summing does not automatically reverse every factory equalization or timing adjustment. Explore the link6+ signal-routing options.

A different kind of bass tool

bassRESTOR

The bassRESTOR is designed to add a bass-restoration effect to recordings that lack the low-frequency weight you want. Wāvtech documents operation from either a full-range or low-pass signal, allowing applications that use a suitable factory-subwoofer signal or aftermarket subwoofer output.

Its included multi-function remote adjusts bass level and restoration effect, with the option to defeat the effect. This is a distinct job from ordinary EQ or volume-dependent factory bass-roll-off correction. Select it for the music and signal path rather than assuming every bass-related processor solves the same problem. Read Wāvtech's bassRESTOR guide.

Amplification that fits the plan

mini and plus amplifiers

Our mini-series selection includes link300.4mini and link500.4mini four-channel models, the link600.5mini five-channel amplifier, and link500.1mini/link1000.1mini monoblocks. The range combines compact packaging with integration features, but individual controls differ. For example, Wāvtech lists parametric EQ on mini models other than link300.4mini.

The plus family expands the choices with link700.4plus, link1000.5plus, link1400.8plus, and two monoblocks. Its multi-channel models offer summing, while the mono models use Wāvtech's dual-rail power-supply approach. Compare channel allocation and onboard processing before deciding whether a separate interface is needed. Compare mini and plus.

thinPRO: take shallow bass seriously

The thinPRO10 and thinPRO12 address one of the most stubborn installation constraints: depth. Wāvtech publishes a 2.9-inch mounting depth for the ten-inch model and a three-inch mounting depth for the twelve-inch model. Both use a honeycomb Nomex® and glass-fiber cone, with a motor and suspension layout developed for the shallow format.

Those dimensions describe the driver, not the finished box. Account for the enclosure material, grille or front clearance, terminals, and usable airspace. Under a seat, verify seat movement and existing equipment. Behind a seat, preserve passenger space and secure the enclosure properly.

Wāvtech provides sealed and ported enclosure guidance for each model. A ported box must accommodate the port and its tuning requirements, not simply fit the driver through an opening. Choose the exact impedance version and amplifier as a pair of decisions, using the manufacturer's wiring and output guidance. See the official thinPRO10 and thinPRO12 resources.

Choose your upgrade route

Adding bass while keeping the original radio

Identify a usable signal, its level, and how it behaves as the factory volume changes. Then choose the interface or amplifier input that fits that signal. Select the subwoofer around the available enclosure location. Add restoration or EQ only when it addresses an identified need.

Powering a complete speaker system

Map the front, rear, and subwoofer channels before shopping. A five-channel amplifier can consolidate a conventional speaker-and-sub layout; other projects benefit from separate speaker and bass amplifiers. An active front stage can require more channels than its visible speaker locations suggest.

Finishing the integration

Check retained chimes, navigation, phone audio, balance, and fader functions in the finished vehicle. Set signal gains in sequence, beginning with a clean source, then establish crossover and level relationships. Compact equipment should still have a secure mounting location, protected wiring, and access for adjustment.

Wāvtech questions, answered

Is linkDQ the same as bassRESTOR?

No. linkDQ combines signal conversion or line driving with parametric EQ. bassRESTOR provides a bass-restoration effect with its own controls. Choose according to whether the task is signal conversion, frequency shaping, or restoration.

Do I always need an external LOC with a Wāvtech amplifier?

Not necessarily. Wāvtech amplifiers have model-specific integration capabilities. Compare their inputs, signal limits, summing, and load-handling provisions with the vehicle before adding a separate interface.

Will matrix summing fix any factory audio signal?

No. It can combine appropriately selected channels, but factory timing, equalization, and other processing may need additional analysis. Identify the source signals and test the result instead of assuming that combining them guarantees a flat response.

Does a three-inch subwoofer need only a three-inch installation space?

No. Mounting depth is one dimension of the driver. The box, front clearance, mounting structure, and connections make the complete installation larger. Use the dimensional drawing and enclosure guidance for the chosen thinPRO model.

Is the remote included with every Wāvtech product?

No. Some models include a multi-function remote, while others support the separately sold linkRC. Check the exact listing and manual before ordering a controller or assuming one comes in the box.
