Choose an inline splice by wire size

Butt connectors join wire ends in line, with a conductor entering each end of the connector. This Install Bay range uses nylon-insulated crimp splices for permanent wiring joints. Start with the conductor gauge, then choose the package quantity needed for the job or workbench.

Compare the available sizes and packs

  • 26–24 AWG: RNBM miniature butt connectors have yellow nylon insulation and come in a 100-piece pack.
  • 22–18 AWG: the red RNBC family offers 100, 500 and 1,000 connectors.
  • 16–14 AWG: the blue BNBC family offers the same three package quantities.
  • 12–10 AWG: the yellow YNBC family also comes in 100, 500 and 1,000-piece packs.

For the RNBC, BNBC and YNBC families, the base part number identifies the 100-pack, the -5 suffix identifies 500 pieces and -1 identifies 1,000. RNBM is a separate miniature size: its yellow sleeve does not make it interchangeable with the larger yellow YNBC connectors.

Butt connector questions

Can I disconnect and reconnect the splice?

A completed butt splice is a permanent crimped joint. If the wiring needs a separable connection, compare the mating interfaces in our Bullet Connectors or Quick Disconnects collections instead.

Does nylon insulation seal out water?

These listings do not specify a waterproof or adhesive-lined heat-shrink seal. Choose environmental protection separately to suit the installation.

What should I check before crimping?

Verify the gauge at both ends, select a tool suitable for that connector and inspect the finished crimp with power disconnected. A larger package changes quantity, not the connector's stated wire range.
